FAQ's

  • What to do in case of an emergency?
In the event you have an emergency, your pet is very ill, or your pet has passed away, please contact your regular veterinary clinic or take your pet to the nearest veterinary emergency hospital. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide emergent care or help with pets that have already passed away at home until we have a brick and mortar facility.
  • How do I schedule an appointment?
Use our "Contact Us" section to place an inquiry or send an email to admin@sunshineveterinarygroup.com From there, we will reach out to start the vetting process, gather information, and send you the schedule link to choose a date that works best.
  • What if you have never seen my pet before?
If you are new to us, welcome! We would love to meet your pet in person to have a consult. At this visit, we can take care of any pertinent matters. If your pet becomes mildly sick in the future or if you need another consult, a Telemedicine visit can be scheduled. However, if during the scheduling process we feel it is necessary for your pet to be seen in person, we will relay this and schedule appropriately.
  • How does a House visit work?
To be seen for a house call, there is a vetting process to be sure all staff is kept safe. We request a deposit of 50% of the projected visit. This will be paid at least 24 hours prior to the visit. If the deposit is not paid, your appointment will be canceled. We will send you a link for payment with your appointment confirmation. If there is a balance, we will refund you. This is to be sure our time and efforts are respected and to prevent last minute cancelations. Our goal is to maintain respectful boundaries in both a safe and effective manner. If you have any other questions on this, please don't hesitate to reach out!
  • What to expect during a house call visit?
You will likely be responsible for holding your pet. If you pet is too rambunctious, aggressive, or does not like to be help still please let us know ahead of time. We can do normal physical exams, behavior consults, give vaccines, and send out samples for diagnostics (bloodwork, urine, fecals). This includes anything part of your yearly visit (heartworm and blood parasites tests and fecal parasite checks). We also have the ability to give other injections such as cytopoint, solensia, librela (when available), antibitoics, and some pain medications. If you wish, we can also provide euthanasia services in the comfort of your home.
  • What do you consider to be your specialty?
As you may have noticed, our logo contains a french bulldog. We love all bulldog breeds and value the high quality care they need. Dr. Davis enjoys teaching clients how to care for bulldog breeds appropriately and make sure they get the care they deserve/need. Dr. Davis uses preventative approaches to medicine to help educate owners to better the breed and address the health concerns they "can" have. Other areas of interest include arthrtitis/pain management with cats and dogs, nutrition, behavior, and skin issues/allergies.
  • What pets do you see?
We love all animals! However, we are limited to what we can see. If you pet is not on this list, you can certainly request a visit depending on the situation. Exotics, wildlife, large animals, etc. sometimes require more in depth care than we can provide, but if it is something simple, we may be able to help. - Dogs (adult and puppies), cats (adults and kittens), birds (if owner is able to handle and help with restraint), pocket pets, rabbits
  • Do you accept Pet Insurance?
We LOVE our patients that have pet insurance. Unfortunately, we do not accept direct payments from insurance companies. Payments must be paid in full at the time of service. You can then submit receipts to your insurance company for reimbursement. We recommend insurance with coverage for accident, illness, injury and alternative treatments (arthritis management supplements like Librela, solensia, PRP, adeqaun, supplements, accupuncture, etc.). You can choose to add wellness coverage, which can cover annuals, vaccines, some yearly blood work and fecal checks, etc.
